On March 25, 2019, the Dayton, Tennessee, Chamber of Commerce held its annual banquet, and, as part of that, inducted its new board.
Among the board members are a couple of Life Care associates. Missy Wood, director of The Veranda, the assisted living community connected to Life Care Center of Rhea County, was named chamber president. She will hold that position for two years. Kayla Millard, business development director at Life Care Center of Rhea County, was also inducted as a chamber ambassador with a three-year term.
“I love being involved in the community events and getting to work alongside others from all of the different employment sectors in Dayton,” said Wood. “Dayton is rapidly growing with several new industries coming to the area, and being a part of that is extremely exciting.”
As chamber president, Wood will assist with many community events, such as the Tennessee Strawberry Festival. The role also means she will serve on two other boards – MainStreet Dayton and the Rhea Economic and Tourism Council.
Millard’s ambassador position will include supporting new and current chamber members and taking part in community events such as ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, membership coffees and other get-togethers.
“I enjoy building relationships with community members, local organizations and community leaders,” said Millard. “I also enjoy the networking opportunities that being a part of the chamber provides.”
